What started as a mutual fascination of bugs and critters between my husband and myself morphed into a passion that is keeping bees. Vintage Honey Bee, part of the local food movement, is interested in contributing to a healthy lifestyle through our sales of raw honey & promotion of tending to honey bees as a means of preserving our environment through pollination.

Starting as an entry-level receptionist in 2002, I established my ability to work with all types of customers and be a quick learner; my feedback became valued. In 2002, medical records were paper files. I took it upon myself to outline a plan for updating to a PMS system to increase efficiency and reduce inaccuracies. This soon led to me setting up the PMS for our practice's individual needs, overseeing staff training, tracking IT needs, and making technology purchases. I ensured the clinic was keeping in step with community presence. I set up and oversaw social media accounts and coordinated with teams for clinic website creation.I also worked with the local animal shelter to fund-raise. I added a Donate Now option for clients when finalizing their payments. I created events that provided an affordable pet service for clients which also generated funds for both the clinic and the shelter. Recognizing additional community needs, I enrolled PVC in the Spay Neuter Services Program in Indiana. SNSI helped PVC provide free or low-cost neuters to families living below the poverty threshold or those experiencing feral cat problems. To help customers pay for emergency services, I established clinic coordination with The Fido Fund, another NFP that directly assists low-income households care for their pets.I pursued my ongoing desire to create vision for the practice and managed Human Resources while maintaining a direct presence with customers. I spent a lot of time with clients face-to-face, on the phone, and through email. It was my passion to keep clients educated on the newest medical recommendations. My ability to reach people at their level to explain medical care could always be counted on.
