Provides and assesses academic advising services, programs and projects for the UBC Faculty of Science in order to support the academic success and personal development of approximately 7800 students enrolled in 46 undergraduate degree, dual and joint degree, and diploma programs in the Faculty of Science. Responsible for providing advising services to students for all service points including in person, email, phone, web-mediated etc. Additional responsibilities include: managing overseeing programs in support of Science Advising, such as Welcome Sessions for prospective and new Science students in secondary schools; managing overseeing recruitment activities; using information technology as it relates to Science Academic Advising and the Faculty of Science.

• Facilitate one-on-one coaching sessions that assist fellow students in setting and achieving long term academic goals• Strong focus on tailoring different approaches to time management, exam preparation techniques and note taking skills to the needs of each individual student.• Collaboration with other coaches in and across SPAC committees to plan and execute events• Ongoing involvement with summer planning committee to help shape the SPAC’s next year
