Yanni became Trustee of the Fire Victim Trust effective July 2022. When the Trust was created, it was funded by U.S.$6.5B and PG&E stock to compensate ~70,000 victims of wildfires sparked by PG&E’s equipment. As Trustee, Yanni is in charge of monetizing the PG&E stock. She is in charge of the claims program, appeals and third-party litigation to enhance the trust assets.

Cathy Yanni has been appointed to be the claims administrator of the $13.5 billion Fire Victim Trust in the Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceeding. In this role, Cathy will be responsible for overseeing the claims resolution process. Cathy will provide an efficient and equitable process to review claims and compensate fire victims for property losses and emotional trauma caused by the 2015 Butte Fire, 2017 North Bay Fires and 2018 Camp Fire.
