Cathy Amenta is the owner of Crestone Massage located in downtown Crestone, CO. She specializes in Therapeutic Massage for the treatment of acute and chronic muscular discomfort, including headaches, neck pain, back pain, hip pain and shoulder pain along with overall stress reduction. Cathy is a Nationally Certified Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork Professional and Reiki Master who graduated with top honors from the Massage Therapy Institute of Colorado in 1998.Cathy was an adjunct professor at Trinidad State Junior College in Alamosa, CO and worked to implement the new massage program there from 2003 till 2007. She taught students in subjects relating to therapeutic massage in accordance with the Colorado State Board of Community Colleges and Occupational Education, and helped incorporate new texts and standard curriculum for the following courses: Anatomy and Physiology, Kinesiology, Hydrotherapy, Reflexology, and Advanced Massage Skills.Cathy has a deep understanding of the relationship between body mechanics, repetitive strain injuries, trauma and stress through her background in sports. She was a previous high school state champion in the 100 meter hurdles and is currently an avid telemark skier, backpacker and hiker and is on Search and Rescue. She enjoys these outdoor activities on a regular basis.Cathy's integrity and love for the profession inspires her to attend continuing education courses on a regular basis and to stay current with all state licensing requirements. She has been a professional member of Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals since 1997.
