Previously, I have worked in event management, collaborative arts marketing, consultancy, heritage and contemporary art. At IDEA I usually work on projects in culture, heritage and tourism. Currently I am working with a great team on a financial and organisational model for the "podiumkunstensite", a future arts centre in Leuven. At the same time, I am facilitating a citywide event policy for Leuven. In January we'll have the kickoff for a research project to formulate a new rationale for finance of immovable heritage. I am very excited about all three projects, which are quite demanding but oh so interesting!

Ontroerend Goed is an internationally renowned theatre company, winner of many international awards. I love them. I have known the guys since we were teenagers and I am still amazed how they have conquered the world. It was great to follow their progress as a member of the board for 16 years, no less. Due to new corporate governance rules, I can no longer do so as a board member, but fortunately this is not necessary to keep enjoying every new play they make.

Kunst in Huis is a non profit organisation. Their aim is to support emerging artists while at the same time offering accessible ways to discover contemporary art. For 40 years now, this was done mainly by art rental. Kunst in Huis offers a collection of 5.000+ art works by over 380 artists in a cheap rental formula (as from €12 per month) with buying options. The artists are supported with promotion, events & financial returns for the rental and sale of their works of art.As of september 2019, we wrote a new chapter to this story: together with a growing network of Flemish and Brussels art galleries we launched "Kunst aan Zet", an interest free art loan developed to support local contemporary artists, inspired by KunstKoop (The Netherlands) and OwnArt (UK). The loan is offered by Hefboom cvba. The project is financed by the Flemish Government.

Herita is a Flemish heritage organization that was launched in 2012. Herita's ambition is to build a Flemish Open Heritage Network, inspired by the British National Trust. While I was working there as Marketing Manager, my main focus was the development of a decent marketing strategy for the years to come. My team was responsible for the general Herita marketing, the MarCom of the Herita heritage sites, the development of B2C member services and B2B partner services, as well as the organization of the well known Open Monumentendag (Open Monuments Day) that celebrated its 25th Anniversary in September 2013.

CJP wants to make youngsters enthousiastic about arts and culture, both by specific communications as well as by organizing a network of young journalists. CJP has merged with my other previous employer, CultuurNet Vlaanderen, and is currently known as Publiq.

At CultuurNet Vlaanderen, we built a national network for promotion of the arts, based on a national database for the arts. Primary output partners were (and are) local and regional governments and the media. Local arts organizations provide the input. The goal is to stimulate more people to participate in the arts in the broadest sense. As of 2014, CultuurNet Vlaanderen has reached a audience of 1 million unique visitors per month on their digital channels.At the time, I was responsible for the conception and strategic development of the network; 50% of the local governments were partners by the time I left. The aim was to professionalize arts marketing by local governments, on a collaborative basis with local arts and leisure organizations. Tools were provided for arts promotion on websites and in print, collaborative campaigns and actions. Local governments were supported with both technical and marketing assistance.

As a collaborative arts marketing consultant, my main task was to advise local governments on strategic collaborative arts marketing, from mission statements and long term goals to marketing tactics. "Collaborative" means that there are different organizations involved, striving for a communal goal. The main focus of my work was stimulating collaboration between cultural organizations at the level of one city or region.Partners at the time were the cities of Leuven, Mechelen, Brugge, Hasselt, Genk, Sint-Truiden; Kortrijk region and Meetjesland region.
