I am a professional administrator with over 20 years' of administrative & organizational management experience.After updating my Business Administration certification in 2009, I was fortunate enough to be offered full time employment as the Executive Assistant for the Women's Economic Council, a national non-profit organization promoting Community Economic Development (CED) within marginalized communities across Canada. This diverse position provided more than 5 years of rich professional development, along with the opportunity to enhance my appreciation of our country by visiting lots of major Canadian cities. However, wanting to focus a little closer to home, it was volunteering within the local community which led me toward employment as the Administrative Coordinator at the Niagara Centre for Independent Living (NCIL), a non-profit providing services for adults with disabilities in the Niagara Region. During my years at NCIL, I grew acutely aware of my affinity with the most vulnerable folks in our community, especially those experiencing homelessness, addiction, and other mental health challenges. Fate and courage led me to the opportunity at Gillian's Place, a shelter for women, their children, and non-binary individuals experiencing gendered abuse. Providing administrative support to an agency sharing such vital supports was an absolute privilege.In my present role as a Consultant Navigator within the Health Service Division of Just-Checking Resources Inc. I have the luxury of working remotely with some wonderful women. We have the joy of speaking with some brilliant minds whilst assisting others to secure the next steps in their healthcare careers.Recognizing the need to make the above transitions has fortified the understanding I have of my myself and my personal attributes. I am very grateful to the paths which have brought me to this stage of my journey, and look forward to roads ahead.
