Core Technologies (Polymers, Metals Management, Process Engineering) • Drove the Innovation Pipeline of chemical related technologies supporting primarily the Nalco Water and Nalco Champion Energy Divisions: ~30 in-flight projects estimated at $750+MM for year 5 annual sales• Responsible for leadership of 80+ member team, budget of $12MM OpEx and $1MM CapEx • Member of executive Research, Development and Engineering Operating Committee (RDEOC), headed by CTO, focused on senior leadership issues regarding RD&E operations and culture• Research lead for “Polymer Strategy Initiative” – resulting in significant OpEx and CapEx investments across research, marketing, manufacturing (new plant build) and M&A investigations • Co-led several integration activities for RD&E function after December 2011 Ecolab acquisition of Nalco (i.e. shared/leveraged technology group realignments, position mapping, rewards and recognition program)• Operated as interim lead for Shared Resources of Global Customer Analytical and Research Analytical teams (2012-2013) with 120 global associates and $18M budget. Executed strategy for global best practices, multi-year CapEx plan and establishment of regional Centers of Excellence.

- Led multiple technical areas in the development of chemical programs with various end-market uses, covering early-stage discovery through initial plant manufacture- Managed direct report staff of people managers and senior technical leaders, overall 80+ personnel- Teams led include: Core Technologies Teams (Chemistry, Internal Efficiency, Pilot Plant) - Drove all aspects of enterprise-wide Corporate Research function, including innovation strategy development, portfolio management and supply chain savings efforts for delivered profitability and growth- Co-led and executed internal raw material rationalization initiatives with audited 5-year savings of $188MM- Championed and launched latex polymer cycle time reduction project resulting in >10% global capacity gains Mobotec Air Protection Technologies - Responsible for technology portfolio for Mobotec business unit (industrial power generation), $7MM/yr. sales, with dotted-line reporting to General Manager- Led teams focused on development of both the traditional Mobotec capital-based offerings and new annuity based chemical programs in biomass, fireside chemical treatment, SO2 and mercury abatement - Supported 2012 business ‘unwinding” of capital aspects of Mobotec, including employee release and reassignments to chemical annuity areasPersonal Products Group - Responsible for technology portfolio for Personal Products Group business unit, $45MM/yr. sales, with dotted-line reporting to global General Manager- Led Technology team focus on polymeric ingredients for the Personal Care market with emphases on shampoo, conditioner, liquid soap and laundry markets; Advanced MerQuat®, Fixomer® and Sensomer® products lines with several new commercial offerings- Supported 2011 divestiture efforts to Lubrizol ($166MM sale) including management presentations, due-diligence discussions, transitioning of research employees and post-sale technology contract issues

• Managed annual budget of $1M-$4M and staff of up to 25 degreed scientists • Headed Chemistry Group, responsible for all innovation efforts related to Nalco’s new polymer products and global monomer/polymer product line• Led team responsible for chemistries development for game-changing 3D TRASAR® program for Cooling Water that generated more than $2.5B in revenue since 2004 induction; Earned 2008 U.S. Presidential Green Chemistry Award• Formed new Internal Efficiency Group to execute supply chain/manufacturing optimizations that produced $30M/2-year cumulative run rate savings in raw material optimizations• Established new and improved Project and Portfolio Management practices related to Innovation Projects though leadership role in two separate Work Process Redesigns (WPR)
