The Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) is an independent corporation created by the Government of Canada to invest in research facilities and equipment in Canada's universities, colleges, research hospitals, and non-profit research institutions.

Technical Safety BC is an independent, self-funded organization that oversees the safe installation and operation of technical systems and equipment across the province. In addition to issuing permits, licences and certificates, TSBC works with industry to reduce safety risks through assessment, education and outreach, enforcement, and research.

Engineers and Geoscientists BC regulates and governs these professions under the authority of the Professional Governance Act, protecting the public interest by setting and maintaining high academic, experience and professional practice standards for over 40,000 registrants.

First West is British Columbia’s third-largest credit union with $14 billion in assets, 250,000 members and more than 1,100 employees. First West operates 54 branches throughout BC under the Envision Financial, Valley First, Enderby & District Financial and Island Savings brands. Cathy chairs First West’s HR Committee.

Consumer Protection BC is a not-for-profit corporation with a mandate to deliver consumer protection services throughout BC. The organization educates consumers about their rights and responsibilities, licenses specific industries and inspects them to ensure compliance with BC’s consumer protection laws, and investigates alleged violations of consumer protection laws, as well as recommending enhancements to BC’s consumer protection laws to the provincial government.

CADTH (now Canada’s Drug Agency) contributes to the Canadian health care system by providing decision-makers with credible, impartial advice and information about the effectiveness and efficiency of drugs and other health technologies. CADTH is mandated to provide guidance on complex health care issues that concern all Canadians.

Part of the Federated Co-operatives retail system, Peninsula Co-op owns and operates gas bars, liquor stores, convenience stores, a food store, home heating and corporate cardlocks. With 100,000 members, 300+ employees and annual sales of $250M, Peninsula Co-op enjoys regional market share leadership and proudly supports the communities in which it does business with $450,000+ in donations annually. Cathy chaired Peninsula’s Governance Committee for 6 years.

Victoria, Bc

Established in 1963, the University of Victoria (UVic) is a globally recognized research-intensive university offering innovative programs for more than 20,000 students within an operating budget of approximately $550 million. After serving a three-year term on the University’s Senate (which is responsible for the academic governance of the university), Cathy was appointed to the Board of Governors in 2015. She chaired the Board 2020 to 2021.

The Arthritis Society provides leadership and funding for research, advocacy and solutions to improve the quality of life for Canadians affected by arthritis. The national Board provides governance oversight and sets the strategic priorities of The Society, a bilingual national organization with annual revenues of approximately $30M and a network of 8 offices across the country. Cathy was a member of the Governance Committee and chaired the Revenue Development Committee.

Victoria, Bc

The Victoria Hospitals Foundation raises funds for priority medical equipment and special projects at Royal Jubilee and Victoria General Hospitals, Victoria’s largest and most comprehensive health care facilities. In 2013, VHF successfully completed a $25 million capital campaign, the largest in both the organization’s and Vancouver Island’s history. A Past Chair of the Board, Cathy also chaired the board's Governance Committee.

Prior to its unification into a single accounting designation in Canada, Certified Management Accountants were members of regional governing bodies. Cathy’s appointment as a lay director was renewed twice at the request of the Board of the Society, until her maximum term limit was reached six years later. Cathy was appointed to the Board through the BC Government's Board Resourcing and Development Office - an Order in Council appointment.
