I wrote my first novel in middle school during play practice for My Fair Lady. I was an extra and didn't need to pay much attention - plus, it was and remains one of my favorite movies. I may be an ambitious writer, but I think you'll find that writers tend to freeze up when writing to sell themselves.You've seen this line over and over in profiles trying to win you over, but I'm entirely sincere when I say that I love a challenge. The process of figuring things out, knuckling down, and creating that perfect product makes me want to jump around in circles or maybe spike a football if one's handy. I've written personal essays, poetry, company blog posts, technical writing in all its forms, and the aforementioned novel. I want to produce results that make your clients want to jump around with me!I was a lead editor for both my high school and college literary journals. In high school, I lead the poetry and fiction teams; in college, I lead the creative nonfiction section. Creative nonfiction is my favorite style.The attribute I strive to bring to every moment of every day is kindness. Everyone contains their own world within them; understanding that someone's experience is not my experience has enabled me to step outside my ego so I can really hear what they're saying. I honor their world the way I hope they would honor mine. This has helped me resolve many unhappy interactions between coworkers and with unhappy clients. With this approach, I managed to retain Planting Peace's largest donor after a particularly unfortunate misunderstanding.Most importantly, of course, I love glitter, puppies, and unicorns. And elephants. I think cheese is awesome, I can't take a decent selfie to save my life, and I'm afraid I might have to download WhatsApp at some point in my life. I believe everyone should know that the correct pronunciation of .gif is "jif," as in "jiffy," but should still say "gif" as in "Gilbert."
