During this multi-disciplinary course, designed by our Department of Law and Economics and PAU(architecture Department), students will spend the week visiting the major archaeological sites. Students will focus on the Magna Grecia V° B.C, Roman and Medieval period, being intimately involved in the excavations and gaining first-hand knowledge and experience of Italian archaeological professional practice. Alongside this, they will receive on-site seminars and workshops with expert visitors exploring matters concerning archaeology and cultural history.The summer school offers students training within the field of economy of cultural and territorial development in relation to sustainable tourism. It presents a strong multidisciplinary character, combining different skills related to the presentation and promotion of cultural heritage, seeing them as attractions for tourism development and as engines of industrial supply chains that can be connected to them. It also provides students with a practical knowledge of the management of historical sites in relation to the provisions of treaties and international organizations.Through lectures and practical experience in the field (visits to the archaeological sites of Magna Grecia V° BC, Roman and Medieval), the summer school aims to develop in the student the appreciation of the territory in relation to its various artistic-socio-economic elements and the interaction between these elements; providing the expertise for the management of cultural heritage.
