About Cat Lookabaugh

Do employees, clients, and future customers rush through your videos, lessons, and tutorials or skip them altogether? Do you need a vehicle to draw them in so they actually get the message and are inspired to take the right action? The right voice highlights the important elements and keeps them listening, and that's me!My passion for communicating and helping folks succeed extends beyond the written word (one of my passions) - I truly love recording voice-overs so your message resonates with listeners and offer post-production for the audio clips for ready-to-use audio if you like. I have my own studio and enjoy recording e-learning courses, explainer animations, video games, audiobooks, and more! (But wait!! If you order now, you also get this set of stainless steel ...)I've lived in three countries, travelled to many more, read and listen to books voraciously, play with my pack of cats and dogs, and enjoy sharing a cup of tea with my wife in the backyard by the fountain (or binge-watching British TV shows).Bottom line? I want to bring words to life and make them both useful and enjoyable for listeners! How may I help you?

Lead Developer

Heb

As a Lead Developer, I rejoined the Store team and served as Tech Lead on the project to replace our existing time & attendance, labor forecasting, and scheduling application. I also served as a liaison between the business and IS folks, in support of the myriad of store-bought applications that we hosted.

Lead Programmer Analyst

Heb

San Antonio, Texas Area

During this phase of my career, I worked on the Warehouse and Transportation team, assisting with implementation and rollout of the new EXE system to our distribution centers. The system provided much needed improvements to the Order selection, and inventory let-down and put-away processes, moving us to newer hardware and infrastructure. I focused on the handheld and mobile computing components, including writing a menu system in C# to provision the devices and allow configurable selection of multiple applications of each device.

Feb 2000 - Sep 2003

Senior Programmer Analyst

Heb

San Angelo, Texas Area

This was my first stint on the IT Store team at HEB. During this time we introduced distributed processing to the stores and took store ordering (to replenish the shelves) to the next level, bringing in Telxon handhelds and a new ordering application written in C++. At the same time, we developed several other applications for the new mobile devices (Shelf Price Audit, RF Inventory, Decision Support to name a few) and brought on Chaintrack (a third party Receiving application) to run on the same device. Later we ported most of those apps to C# to run on Symbol devices. In addition to the Telxon/Symbol work, I helped train new team members, bring them up to speed on the Photo, Pharmacy, Receiving, and other instore applications we supported. I created a team web portal detailing our applications from a system administration and system support perspective, allowing us to effectively support any application, even if it wasn't our specialty!

Programmer Analyst

Heb

San Antonio, Texas Area

Well, this was a ways back, but I do remember starting out doing mainframe programming using COBOL and Easytrieve programming languages and JCL with syncsort. I created or modified programs for creating retail shelf tags, reports and managing the labor scheduling system.

Basically at this time I learned the tenets of my craft in the real world as opposed to the classroom. Mostly minor to moderate enhancements, or short and sweet, one-to-three step jobs to create simple reports or data files.
