Research focused on the development of a synergistic antibiotic combination therapy for multidrug-resistant Gram-negative bacteria. This included demonstration of the synergistic effect and elucidation of the mechanisms of action and interaction of the drugs on the model bacterium Escherichia coli using transcriptomics, biochemical, and genetic approaches.
