From teaching Sustainable Finance at Harvard University and Tec de Monterrey, to leading sustainability innovations at a major infrastructure developer in Latin America, Grupo HYCSA, I’ve spent over two decades at the intersection of finance, technology, and environmental stewardship. As Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) at Grupo HYCSA, I lead transformative sustainability strategies that drive measurable impacts. Through initiatives like Green Concrete introduction, we achieved over 8,000 tons in CO2 reduction—equivalent to preserving 143,000 trees for a decade in just my first year. Our projects are also set to plant close to half a million actual trees in the next five years, further reinforcing our commitment to environmental restoration. I introduced the company to GRI and TCFD frameworks, advancing emissions reporting and transparency. My mission? To bridge AI innovation with ESG to drive measurable, transformative results. Whether it’s enhancing ESG disclosures through AI-powered analytics or advising global corporations on climate finance, I focus on leveraging cutting-edge solutions to address critical sustainability challenges. As a thought leader and the author of Fundamentals of Sustainable Finance (Routledge, 2024), I am passionate about educating the next generation of sustainability leaders. I help organizations unlock AI’s potential to create a more sustainable and resilient future. My collaborations with Chapter Zero Mexico, Stanford Social Innovation Review, Impact and Sustainable Finance Faculty Consortium, and GRASFI have enriched my work in sustainable finance and climate action.
