My career starts with my Bachelor of Science (B.S.) focused in Environmental Science from Georgia College and State University with a minor in Geology. In college I discovered my interest in gardening, felt passionate about environmental sustainability, and loved connecting with people who had a diverse set of backgrounds and opinions. Over the ten years since my college days I have obtained six years of hands-on experience leading science-based programs. My interest in gardening grew to become a passion in connecting people with the positive experience of growing their own healthy foods, which serves an environmentally sustainable goal. I have developed and led programs that focused on horticultural/agricultural education from pre kindergarten to middle school groups. In addition to leading these programs I organized volunteer projects, applied for and received grants, planned crop rotations, and provided maintenance for the garden. Currently in my role as a Gardener II at Biltmore Estate, I am growing as an aesthetic gardener as well as in vegetative invasive species management.
