Caylee completed her undergraduate career at Westmont College, and spent a semester studying abroad in the Middle East. This program was a great catalyst of personal change, as well as professional and academic development. The first two months of the program were spent in Istanbul, Turkey, where great emphasis was placed on building relationships with Turks and gaining an in-depth understanding of and appreciation for the new and foreign context. Later, she studied conflict and change while staying in Egypt and then Israel-Palestine. Caylee was challenged to hold bitter disputes in creative tension and refuse to take sides. Since then, she has continued to stretch herself in new ways. She continues to be fascinated at how individuals, communities, cultures and countries shape each other and are shaped by the subtle rhythms of mutual existence.Passionate about justice, respect, foreign policy, the intersections between politics and economy, support programs for at-risk youth, and political, religious and cultural reconciliation.Career interests include international journalism, writing & editing, research & advocacy, international relations, domestic anti-poverty legislation, non-governmental organizations, social work, grassroots entrepreneurship, equine therapy, visual art.
