As an intern the Bridges and Structures Group, my position entailed supporting the team under the direction of several engineers where I was able to obtain design experience and further develop my CAD skills. Through this internship I gained proficiency using OpenRoads Designer, OpenBridge Modeler, ProjectWise, Civil3D, and CSiBridge to help develop models and draft plan sets. While my work was predominantly bridge design, I also assisted other departments with drafting and preliminary design. The most notable project I worked on was the Interstate Bridge Replacement where I helped with a variety of tasks that included the development of the structure matrix for the program and the NBI grant request.
