Chris Bayley is the Co-Founder of Cover Genius, the insurtech for embedded protection, and Managing Partner of Deck2.vc. Cover Genius was founded in 2014 and protects the customers of the world’s largest digital companies, including Booking.com, Uber, Amazon, Priceline and many others. The company has attracted over US$200 million in investment capital from leading American and European funds and grown rapidly to over 600 employees globally while signing up 2 million customers a month at a growth rate of 80%.In 2024 Chris stepped back from day-to-day work at Cover Genius to operate an early-stage fund and a separate private equity fund focused on insurance/insurtech distributors. Chris has also founded and funded social impact startups in the US and South-East Asia. Chris worked at Google prior to starting Cover Genius with his business partner Angus McDonald, who remains CEO. Chris has a BA with Honours in English Literature and an MBA and his philanthropy includes not-for-profit boards tied to the company's social impact unit, CG Gives, and foundational work on social impact startups that cover local media, education, entrepreneurship and South East Asian economic development. Prior to Cover Genius, Chris was one of the first team members at Google Sydney and worked as a political reporter.
