About Dr. Cynthia B. Brown Msw, Bsb-Pa

Dr. Cynthia B. Brown graduated with her Ph.D. in Multidisciplinary Human Services. Her dissertation focused on "CHRONIC HOMELESSNESS FROM A PARAPROFESSIONAL PERSPECTIVE." Dr. Brown is excited about the opportunities to mentor, volunteer, or apprentice in higher education and mental health awareness. Dr. Brown is a mental health advocate and actively seeks opportunities for public speaking engagements.Dr. Brown graduated from the University of Southern California with a Master's in Social Work in 2017. Her focus was Business in a Global Society with a military sub-concentration. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business and Public Administration and a Post-Baccalaureate in Human Resources. Dr. Brown received the USC Suzanne Dworak Peck School of Social Work Order of Arte' Award in May 2017. After completing her internship with The SISGI Group, she wanted to continue her professional development in core skills in social change. She enrolled in the Community Leadership Academy for the Social Sector (CLASS). This one-year leadership experience assisted in guiding her nonprofit the WayWesX17 Group, a Xavier Brown Foundation (WWX17). The organization's origins are embedded in her determination to positively overcome the grief of her sons, Waymond II and Wesley Pearce. Instead of dying in the sands of despair, she started this organization in 2015. WWX17 mission is to use our collective voices to help restore hope, provide refuge, and create a legacy of global social change for all who are journeying through the grief of homelessness. She was employed with AT&T for 20 years in various customer service roles. During her tenure, her accolades include the Employee of the Month, Presidential Volunteer Awards, AT&T Fortune 500 Club, and Perfect Attendance.Dr. Brown co-authored the Amazon best-seller, "Face-Off: The Story Behind The Mask." She is working on her second book, scheduled for publication in Spring 2023. She has been married to Waymond Brown Sr for over 30 years. They have an adult son Kristopher X. Brown who is working towards an International Business and Marketing Masters. Dr. Brown is a Nana to two beautiful granddaughters. She has two deceased sons Wesley Pierce who died shortly after birth in October 1990, and Waymond Patrick II, who died from sudden cardiac arrest at 23 in May 2012.
