About Christopher Buck

About Me: I am an Oracle and Microstrategy Certified senior data analyst skilled in solution design+development, data analysis, automation, and self-service reporting for stakeholders. I also have extensive cross-functional process that involves documentation creation, sign-offs, project plan creation, providing project level presentations, requirements gathering, and strengthening relationships. My work experience spans IT consulting and Healthcare Analytics (Finance and Data Analysis). From that experience, I have acquired a strong technical acumen that enables me to deliver innovative solutions. This helps me to bridge the gap for teams by understanding available products, solutions and what is required to implement them. What I bring to teams is a strong technical acumen and a passion to build stronger business acumen and build a stronger culture. My goals for 2020: I am currently focusing this year to become certified in Reporting and developing proficiency in ETL, and Python. I have a power user skillset in SQL (Advanced Queries, Stored Procedure, automation) and this is one of the main foundations for ETL, Python and reporting.Cross-functional Collaboration: I love to collaborate cross-functionally on projects. As a data analyst, I have to wear multiple hats: Data Engineer, Solution Architect, Data Analyst, Consultant, Business Analyst/etc. In addition to wearing multiple hats, I have to wear one that supersedes all of them, networking with others. Building relationships with stakeholders allows me to better understand the deliverable’s requirements, downstream impacts and helps me deliver the correct data granularity that will solve the stakeholder’s request. Talent Multiplier: I feel that I am a Talent Multiplier by encouraging teammates and teams to share knowledge and skills. It doesn’t make sense to be the only person in your team or company with a particular set of skills. Leaders must invest in others and or groom others to encourage a culture that helps multiply those skills and experiences. In doing so, teams become stronger and everyone gets a chance to contribute in ways that they previously weren’t. Encourage others to keep learning or find a way to tap into their potential. In many instances, we must train from within and invest the time and passion to do so. Examples include my passion to teach weekly SQL trainings, groom junior data analysts and helping to strengthen the culture and skills of teams that I am on.
