This was a position focusing on technical support and hosting services for the company's global freight logistics solutions during global roll-out across multiple customersThis role included:-* Managing and recruiting multi-region "follow the sun" managed application support team supporting business critical global implementations used worldwide in over 90 countries* Responsible for service provision across team to global and UK customers on 24/7 basis with very strict SLAs* Defining and evolving common support processes adopted into wider product-specific support teams* Maintaining strong relationships and service management with tier-1 customers* 3rd party management of involved service providers* Working with development, product management and internal/customer project teams to improve all aspects of the solution* Lead player in Salesforce Service Cloud technical design and global project rollout

Provider of software solutions and services for the supply chain, insurance & logistics markets.This role included:- * Direct management of Support department consisting of 11 staff providing 24/7 support serving 5,000 external customers * Successful deployment and support of SaaS/Hosted business critical solutions processing 50 million transactional messages/year with an uptime in excess of 99% * Technical responsibility for Incident and Problem resolution, application configuration, customer transaction billing and workflow scripting * Implemented monitoring and performance improvements to maximise throughput and observability of the hosted services without additional hardware requirements * Team Management * Acted as point of escalation for the team who handle in excess of 2,000 incidents/month, responding to customers quickly with innovative solutions * Represented the company during regular service review meetings with customers * Managed project team responsible for delivery of the Insurance Xchange EDI service from initiation to returning £1m revenue/year * Coordination with internal departments, customers and third-parties regarding prioritisation, scheduling and scope of patches, bugfixes and service maintenance * Raised product enhancement suggestions to improve product’s saleability * Ensured customer’s SLAs were met or exceeded and timely reporting of KPIs * Key change agent for integration of businesses following the acquisition of Perwill Plc and subsequent relocation to new offices * Responsible for design, implementation, rollout and ongoing administration of the HEAT support system used across European teams * Authorising member of Change Advisory Board reviewing all service-impacting risks associated with each technical change request

The OneOrZero project is a web-based helpdesk and task management application coded in PHP utilising a mySQL/SQLite database. The project started as part of the sourceforge open source community but has since become commercial (http://www.oneorzero.com/). This was a part-time role and included:-* Designing and coding new functionality in PHP* Addressing bugfixes* Testing* Maintenance of the code in SVN repository* Packaging new releases to the community* Assistance with support to community members via the online forum

Perwill was a software house providing business to business supply chain and insurance solutions.This role included:-* Responsibility for the rapidly expanding EDI hosted services offered by the company processing millions of pounds of electronic transactions weekly running services on behalf of IBM* Managed the support department (4 staff) handling over 200 incidents/month]* Management of two third-party data center providers* Represented the support department in service review meetings with customers* Project managed and implemented delivery of change requests for existing customers resulting in increasing transactions and additional traffic revenue* Compilation of monthly reports for directors detailing recommendations for improvements, major department achievements and highlighting any issues/risks* Hands-on technical incident and problem investigation and resolution
