The celebration of World Space Week is under the guidance of the UN Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS) and the UN Office for Outer Space Affairs (OOSA) based in Vienna, Austria."To celebrate each year at the international level the contributions of space science and technology to the betterment of the human condition" -- as declared by the United Nations General Assembly

SPACE is a society registered under Indian society registration act. It is a voluntary organization working towards science popularisation. It is a team of dedicated and eminent astronomers, science communicators & educators. The constitution of India- Part IV A, Article 51 A (Fundamental Duties of Citizen), h lays down “It shall be the duty of every citizen of India to develop the scientific temper, humanism and the spirit of inquiry and reform.” The society’s objective is to work for achieving this aim.SPACE is pioneer in introducing astronomy as a subject in the form of a co-curricular activity in the Indian education system at school level.
