After 30 years of marketing, I made the decision to pursue my creative side and started CBeck Designs. Utilizing my fashion design background I started designing and making walker totes as my first product. That idea came from watching my mom who is going blind and has dementia, try to find her walker among numerous others that all looked alike. She needed something to make hers stand out in the crowd, so I paired great fabrics in patterns and solids with ribbon ties and "Walker Buddies" were born! I also make other fun and fancy fabric creations and market them at small local trunk shows and online. The large embroidered name on the front of her walker bag has helped my mom a lot and everyone who comes her way says "Hi Yolanda!"​. Because whether or not they recognized her, they for sure could read her name on the pretty colorful bag that hung over the front bar of her walker. She tells everyone who sees her tote that her "creative daughter makes these things and hey, do you want to buy one?"​. Ha!I am now building my website, CBeckDesigns.com, along with making embroidered baby quilts, kitchen gifts, wedding presents and soon holiday towels and handbags. I thoroughly enjoy the creative process of turning an idea into something that will make someone happy. But the most rewarding thing of all is to get a heart warming "thank-you"​ from a pleased family member who purchased their loved one a new walker bag! Or see the happily surprised look on someone's face when they get whatever it is I have made for them! I can't be more blessed than that. Life is good on Flagg Drive.
