"Management is doing things right; leadership is doing the right things." - Peter DruckerIt's hard to "do the right thing" if you have no idea what "the right thing" is! As an IT veteran with 20+ years experience building and leading teams; guiding organizations through strategic growth phases and implementing multi-tenant business applications - I am uniquely equipped to find the "right" path and am an expert in keeping things moving. I am exceptional at designing and implementing successful models for communication and collaboration; building team resiliency and raising morale - resulting not just in measurable results but also in producing thoughtful, engaged leaders throughout all levels of an organization. As a leader, I believe it is important to ensure holistic allegiance to the mission and to clear/stated values and goals. I am able to drive multiple, concurrent projects from the requirements gathering stage to UAT to implementation while managing scope, budget and personnel; however, I also believe in creating frameworks where individuals can own their work; develop professionally and become resilient enough to find their way forward through any "set-backs" and/or false starts. In addition to all of this fantastic-ness, I am creative, well-rounded, fun (and funny) with a passion for helping individuals and organizations grow capacity while cultivating authentic, reliable connections with their customers, communities and each other. I have managed a variety of "system overhauls" and have demonstrated my ability to steer people through these upheavals in a way that builds solidarity, increases buy-in and improves efficiency. Special skills: workflow and system analysis; organization, project and people management; risk assessment; strategic planning; Leadership development; training and culture management.

Director Of Programs/Dev/Color Dec 2018 - Mar 2021San Francisco, California, UsAt /dev/color, we're on a mission to create environments where Black software engineers support and engage each other; reducing isolation, learning from peers, setting/meeting career goals and developing into industry leaders. We believe that role models, learning opportunities, and the right network are all key ingredients for success in software engineering. There are thousands of talented Black engineers that currently lack access to these resources, and it is our goal to fill that gap. As Director of Programs, I am responsible for end-to-end design, execution, and stewardship of our flagship program: facilitating strategic partnerships, supporting community-facing initiatives, and sustainably expanding our attained markets and portfolio of products and services. I am also responsible for identifying and implementing new channels of diversified revenue. I manage a team of four as we support ~500 members across the country and seek to engage a broader base of 500,000, mid-to-senior career level Black software engineers. In early 2020, I was instrumental in guiding our org though several critical, transitions/upheavals as well as mitigating a significant threat to our core peer-to-peer, in person squad model. I was able to effectively re-imagine our program as well as our team so that we emerged in 2021 with a new, digital-first format for meeting and events; strengthened partnerships with some of the top players in Tech and an increase in our membership (when we had predicted a COVID-related decrease.) During this time, I also created several strategic roadmaps for increasing our reach and scaling our program; reduced the amount of spending per member and event by 2/3rds; have achieved annualized revenue targets and ensured a high level of member and partner satisfaction. -

Helping to define and operationalize Strategy and Partnerships; actively pursuing mutually beneficial engagements with like-minded organizations, service providers, investors, and clients; overseeing marketing and outreach; developing and delivering training around organizational strategy; securing funding for fiscally-sponsored projects and enabling sustainable strategic growth. Our mission is to supply tech support services to non-profits and other social sector service programs allowing them to grow through technology adoption. We are particularly interested in supporting small-to-mid sized non-profits; helping them to thrive and serving as entry points for women of color to enter STEM based careers. We believe that technology can serve as a crucial differentiator for non-profits and that the types of analysis routinely used by “for-profit” tech companies; can be especially transformative when applied to organizations whose primary purpose is to serve under-represented, under-valued and disenfranchised populations. We provide on-demand and scalable business system support at competitive pricing to organizations which serve the Social Sector; as well as subsidized (reduced price) services for organizations that are led by Women of Color and/or that have Women of Color as their primary beneficiaries. We also train marginalized and unincorporated persons in a variety of software applications and in performing data analysis so they are better prepared to transition into IT tech careers. -
