I assisted students overcome challenges they face in statics and thermodynamics. I worked closely with students to ensure they understand the connection between the problem, the solution, and the underlying fundamentals.

Lead a group of 20+ cross-disciplinary engineering students to integrate a Yamaha Genesis 80FI engine in to Michigan Tech's Formula SAE vehicle. Encouraged long term team member development through a wide range of projects. Lead calibration development of engine package through testing on engine bench and in vehicle.

Responsible for all aspects of engine calibration varying from base engine mapping to drivability.

-OBD Self Test calibration for 16MY F650/750. Propose several thresholds for KOEO, KOER, glow plug, and fuel injector assessment tests. Calibrate diagnostic systems manager for each test. -Benchmark Intrepid Control Systems data logger against current supplier. Validate video-data synchronization to monitor SCR deposit build up. Establish user guide to walk new users through setting up equipment and wireless upload of data. -Attend hot weather calibration trip to assist calibration engineers. -Develop implementation plan for adoption of SAE J1979 self-certifcation testing tool for diesel programs.-Manage and update OBDII checklist for F650/750 programs. Identify gaps between software releases and update accordingly.

-Begin calibration of misfire monitor for next generation engine using new logic. Proposed several thresholds for single cylinder continuous misfire and random misfire. Determined margin for detection in all areas for new misfire monitor logic. -Developed and implemented a new standard method of tracking parts and technician work. New method is currently in use with no major issues. Calibration groups will continue to use new process for upcoming projects.-Attend validation trip for 15MY 1GR programs. Assist powertrain calibrators as needed.

-Began calibration of lean imbalance monitor for 15MY. Determined if current detection thresholds were sufficient for current calibration. Proposed countermeasure for detection issue.-Coordinated mileage accumulation of several prototype vehicles with new development engine. Worked closely with technician and engineering groups to identify milestones, adjust deadlines according to prototype delays, and determine requirements of each vehicle's accumulation.-Began calibration of rich imbalance monitor for 15MY. Determined if current detection thresholds were sufficient for current calibration. Proposed new thresholds to prevent misdetection when there was sufficient signal-to-noise ratio.-Developed prototype thermal imaging apparatus to assist in calibration of catalyst over-temperature monitor. Worked with technician group to get components fabricated and receive feedback on early stage design concepts.
