Bryan Ivey is the team lead for the X-Force Threat Analysis Service (XFTAS) team. The primary function of this team is the production of a daily newsletter delivered to our customers. The newsletter includes team written assessments highlighting security related events / cyber threats / information / vulnerabilities, latest security vulnerabilities, and security news items of interest. Bryan has been published in the X-Force Threat Insight Quarterly, IBM Trend and Risk Report, and on the IBM Security Intelligence Blog site. Bryan has also been a major contributor in preparing the IBM Trend and Risk Report for a number of years.Bryan started with Internet Security Systems in 1996 as the IT department during the early years of ISS. Bryan's responsibilities included Unix and Windows, DNS, Email, and Web administration, Helpdesk, equipment purchasing, and network design and maintanence. After 14 years in IT, Bryan joined the XFTAS team in 2010 and quickly began accepting additional responsibilities and duties where he was quickly promoted to team lead.Prior to ISS, Bryan worked as a systems programmer for Lanier Worldwide. During that time, Bryan was responsible for the code for Physical I/O (PIO) handlers, provided major enhancements to the code for Lanier Business Basic, designed / coded / led the team for a server / client application, and provided API interfaces into a number of various libraries used in Lanier products. Before leaving Lanier, Bryan was the administrative interface between the R&D department's internal servers and IT as well as the architect for the R&D's network redesign.Bryan provides over 33 years of experience in programming, system administration, network design, and security to the IBM team.
