About Chris Shaw, J.D. Ll.M

I am an attorney supervisor with a long-running career in the U.S. military and a broad range of skills. As a trusted strategic advisor to senior military leadership, I provided concise, actionable legal and ethics advice to military/civilian decision makers, as well as advice in domestic and international settings that covers every aspect of military operations (supporting national security and the rule of law). Throughout my career, I have managed numerous high-visibility, sensitive, and complex investigations. With these investigations, I work effectively with a diverse group of parties and stakeholders to achieve critical goals. In addition to successes in others areas, I am particularly proud of creating and leading a group of senior officers from diverse backgrounds who designed the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Strategic Plan frame-work adopted by the U.S. Marine Corps.WHO I AM:⏩ A General Counsel who leverages expertise in numerous, complex legal procedures and protocols that he makes accessible to executive leaders to help them make sound decisions informed by law, ethics, and policy. ⏩ A Global Executive who designs and executes systems for operational purposes, with extensive experience and success in international initiatives, including combat environments.⏩ A Servant Leader who trains, manages, and inspires lawyers and support staff to provide optimal legal counsel. ⏩ A Consensus Builder who forges partnerships among disparate stakeholders, thereby creating buy-in for legally supported courses of action/decisions.⏩ A Results-Proven Success Driver who leads teams to perennial achievement of day-to-day and long-term, mission-critical objectives with deep complexity and high stakes. ⏩ A Principal Investigator who executes sensitive inquiries w/ national security implications and global media scrutiny.
