I work in the lab department of Newtec Engineering, mainly on surface science experiments, and practical work in the lab. My main contribution is being able to convert drawings and ideas into measurement and analysis tools. And doing the glassware of course!

Geneva

Technical student at CERN, Geneva, in the machine protection department (TE-MPE), working with simulations of charged particle showers. The work was ultimately related to machine protection applications of diamond detectors in the LHC. Notable projects include a feasibility study on abort gap population monitoring with beam gas interactions in the BGI, preliminary simulations on damage threshold experiments on Nb-Ti superconductors, and experiments characterising diamond detector response functions at the Beam Test Facility, ITFN Frascati, Italy.

1 year voluntary work mainly focused on developing and running activities and teambuilding for scouts as well as companies. This year trained my ability to plan and execute projects and courses. I gained a lot of first hand knowledge on the mechanics of teams and cooperation.
