• Primary developer and technical lead on a Big Data project to incorporate NASA’s Earth Observation System, National Research Laboratory and AERONET atmospheric data. The purpose of this project was to find correlations between outages with various products and atmospheric factors. DBMS solutions ranged from a .Net/SQL Server 2012 proof of concept to a Hadoop based solution using a hybrid of Hive and Greenplum with Talend serving as the ETL engine and Java as the parser for the HDF file format used by NASA.• Technical Lead and supporting developer with a project that is used to corral company and competitor product information to use for comparison and sales. It is written in Java making use of SQL Server 2012, Spring and JBoss.• Supporting developer for migration of SQL Server data warehouse to distributed Greenplum environment.• Primary developer and technical lead for the creation and maintenance of a suite of .Net MVC5 web applications and supporting SQL Server 2012 backend. Their function is to act as a tool for Requestors, Program Managers, Requisitioners and Finance personnel to use for submitting work requests, managing budgets and managing projects.

• Created website for ordering uniform and various accessories for security officers. Utilized .Net Webforms with a SQL Sever backend• Created W-2 repository website that generated pdf’s for an individual’s W-2. The site allowed an employee to securely log in and download their W-2. Utilized .Net Webforms with with a SQL Server backend with encrypted tables.

• Created a data warehouse consisting of data from multiple source systems unable to communicate with each other. The ETL’s originally consisted of a series of .Net applications that pull data using methods such as HttpWebRequest/HttpWebResponse (for pulling csv extracts from Cognos), Interop (for navigating Hyperion to pull extract data) and FileSystemWatcher (waits for an input file) to feed to a corresponding stored procedure for the transformation. Eventually, those ETL’s were replaced with Linked Server (Oracle/Sybase/Greenplum) connections, stored procedures and SSIS packages. The warehouse is highly normalized, using a hybrid star and snowflake schema to optimize the size on disk and provide high versatility in the types of reports generated. This data has become vital for metrics used by Operations managers to make decisions for the direction of their organizations and higher sub-business. • In addition to the creation of the database, my tasks involved training/mentoring others to change their skillsets from being Access-oriented to SQL Server (2012) as their DBMS while providing direction for the technological future of our group and performing all DBA duties. I am also responsible for the server installation/maintenance, patching, backups and migration of data between the production/qa/dev environments.

My duties included overseeing our team’s migration of our data warehouse from Access to SQL Server. We were tasked by GE to provide reporting for business and financial functions by pulling data from various data sources throughout the company into an Access database. That data is used to generate Excel and PowerPoint reports used throughout GE. Because of limitations with Access, we upgraded the table structures and ETL’s to support an entity relationship model in SQL Server. The ETL’s included direct queries to source systems, Http Request/Response for downloading csv reports and Interop calls to simulate mouse clicks and button presses to download csv reports.

• Duties revolved around creating new channels for member outreach and automating existing workflows. Eliza has traditionally used phone for contacting members for reminders and various questionnaires regarding their health. This approach has been static in nature as all members of an outreach received the same questions. • Tasked with writing a rules engine and its underlying database (SQL Server) that used various known facts about individual members to ask dynamic questions to each member. • An additional branch was to communicate through email. • Built the staging database, stored procedures and the engine used for communicating with ExactTarget to send the emailsign and field problems for Single & Multi-shaft Steam Turbines.• Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and suggest Corrective Actions to prevent reoccurrence.

• Sprigley was a startup dedicated to changing the way people view their health. • The main focus in achieving that end was creating a profile of who the individual is to determine their health needs instead of summing them up by their current symptoms and a 5 minute checkup. • Tasked with writing the website and ontology tool engine. It relies heavily on using xsl as its rules engine and parsing an xml script to provide the user with a set of questions based on their previously gathered facts, as well as a MySQL database back-end to process and store their facts. All aspects are created from scratch, requiring designing and administering the MySQL database and code. This allows a community to be created based on those facts tailored specifically for the user that includes a message board and links based on their profile. The goal was a health 2.0 approach of bringing similar people together to make more informed choices regarding their health. The approach was so successful the company was bought a short time after the site's public launch.

My duties included the creation and implementation of software to automatically post electronic explanation of benefits (EOB) into doctors’ office practice management systems by working directly with the customer to determine posting methods. The software dealt with posting claim payments via the MitemView framework (a framework used to intercept telnet data). The application made heavy use of an xsl rules-based logic for custom logic for various customers, the .Net framework and Microsoft’s SQL Server 2005 Express Edition.
