As a youth program coordinator, my work centered around sexual health education and mentoring youth ages 12-18 in their creative youth social entrepreneurship projects. In this work I developed and managed new and existing youth programs. I evaluated my work through both structured and informal evaluation methods to continue improving the programs. I developed the first Latine-specific queer youth at Centro by creating a leadership team of queer youth, parents of youth, mental health experts, and educators and hosting listening sessions. In my final year, I led our youth social entrepreneurship program and established relationships with local farmers markets to sell our products. Through the pandemic, I kept close and attentive relationships with families to connect them to government and community resources to respond to urgent needs.

As an assistant researcher I have been involved with the development and execution of an ongoing research project that attempts to identify barriers to care for Black and Latino HIV+ MSM in the Twin Cities. I was responsible for designing semi-structured interview questions and conducting one-on-one interviews with clients. Additionally, I am responsible for coding the qualitative data with Atlas.Ti and working collaboratively with my coworkers to analyze and identify common themes.
