Nursing is not just a profession, it's not just a job, but a calling. I believe I have found my passion and life's calling as a registered nurse in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Nothing makes my heart as full as witnessing premature infants overcome the impossible. I'm a huge patient advocate and make it a priority to focus on family-centered care while empowering parents to have a voice and to be involved in every aspect of their child's care. Implementing safe practice and evidence-based care in the NICU is crucial and something I strive for everyday. I have a strong work ethic and continuously seek out opportunities to improve my practice. Knowing the "why" behind the care I provide to my patients is the key in providing informed and high quality care. I plan to sit for the RNC-NIC exam in the coming months to further my career and knowledge as a NICU nurse.
