In 2018, the death of my grandmother, who had fallen victim to a social engineering attack two years prior, fueled my passion for cybersecurity. Witnessing her decline after a lifetime of running multiple businesses inspired me to educate myself and others on these threats. While serving as the Facility Coordinator at St. Jude Catholic Church, I immersed myself in podcasts and books on cybercrime, studying topics ranging from organized crime to nation-state actors. I encouraged others to adopt strong cybersecurity practices and have since been working toward a cybersecurity apprenticeship with CyberUp, preparing for CompTIA Security+ certification; and have received my ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity “CC” Certification, October 2024.
