Through a lense of local capacity building and policy advocacy, I collaborate with the local leaders and the community of South Central Los Angeles to address the effects of degrading environmental conditions on the health and safety of Watts residents. On behalf of the Luskin School of Public Affairs at UCLA, and under the direction of the Better Watts Initiative, the environmental justice arm of the Watts Labor Community Action Committee, I co-lead a scientific research study to assess the presence of lead in the tap water of South-Central Los Angeles residential units.• Lead logistics of residential drinking water sampling project in Watts, California and managed data for post-data collection and metal contaminant research. From May to August 2023, collected over 600 drinking water samples, one per residential unit• Organize and lead door-knocking with 4 water sampling groups with sample collectors and security guards• Manage budget of over $40,000 to implement research, and compensated 40+ members of sampling team• Organize high-impact meetings with community leaders and executives of the Los Angeles Department for Water and Power

I work as an administrator for the Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Consortiumto Advance Health Equity and Researcher Diversity, supporting health providers and clinical researchers in developing the capabilities of artificial intelligence and machine learning technology, as well as the knowledge, training, and infrastructure necessary to implement AI/ML methods in healthcare and clinical research, to expand data diversity in order to address health disparities and inequities.• Conduct stakeholder outreach to research institutions across the western region of the United States• Create and maintain organization website, and create flyers for events• Present research on behalf of UCLA nephrologists at UCLA Department of Medicine Research Day and the American Society of Nephrology Kidney Week (Nov 2023)• Manage monthly reporting of organization deliverables according to scope of work requirements• Organized a national organizational conference in June 2023 and high-impact meetings with organizational leadership • Take meeting minutes and report back to national leadership at conferences and weekly meetings

KUYA Movement is a cooperative community organization that utilizes the concept of being a “KUYA” and social justice-themed art to inspire others to become community leaders. Organize and oversee community-oriented art programs and service projects Released a total of 9 art-based t-shirt designs, with 4 being collaborative designs with local artists. 100% of profits donated to groups that help homeless and mentally ill, formerly incarcerated, indigenous communities, and disadvantaged communities in the Philippines.

• Communicate with program liaisons, faculty, and senior administrators at 10 university program sites across the U.S., who are involved in the Building Infrastructure Leading to Diversity (BUILD) program, in an effort to coordinate virtual interviews and in-person site visits (in person from August-December). • Alongside a team of 7, coordinate and conduct interviews with university senior administrators, faculty, program coordinators, liaisons, and focus groups with students to understand the program impact of BUILD as a result of funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH).• Track progress of BUILD program evaluation, manage budget, and manage data (audio files, transcripts, project spreadsheets and databases).

•Organize meetings for the Immigrant Health Committee, annual research symposiums, and lecture series for pediatricians.•Provide support in database entry for CME accredited didactic programs, conduct member and community outreach, maintain archives, and conduct monthly fiscal reporting for the Reach Out and Read early relational health & early literacy program, and research grantmakers for funding opportunities for the AAP-CA2.•Manage the AAP-CA2 website, and provide communication to member clinicians of the AAP-CA2.•Strategize and curate original content and graphic media for AAP-CA2 advocacy campaigns and social media.

CASA is a community center in Ontario established by Pitzer College to promote collaboration between advocacy groups, resource centers, students, and community members in the Inland Empire. Schedule events with organizers and groups who use the CASA community space, and assist them during events. Organize CASA’s community art & engagement programs- for example: In February 2017, organized personal narrative art exhibit with the warehouse workers of Ontario Provided research for community organizations such as Warehouse Workers Resource Center on state of working conditions in warehouses of the Inland Empire, and organized art workshops to document experiences of community members affected by the logistics industry.

Project Pericles Inc. is a non-profit organization composed of liberal arts colleges and universities geared towards the ideas that social responsibility and participatory citizenship are essential parts of an undergraduate curriculum, in the classroom, on campus, and in the community.In March 2019, was selected to lead an art and media campaign to raise awareness on current healthcare legislation in CaliforniaOrganize art workshops alongside Inland Coalition for Immigrant Justice to promote civic engagement in the Health4All campaign in California.
