On behalf of the Luskin School of Public Affairs at UCLA, and under the direction of the Better Watts Initiative, the environmental justice arm of the Watts Labor Community Action Committee, I co-lead a scientific research study to assess the presence of lead in the tap water of South-Central Los Angeles residential units.• Lead logistics of residential drinking water sampling project in Watts, California and managed data for post-data collection and metal contaminant research. From May to August 2023, collected over 600 drinking water samples, one per residential unit• Organize and lead door-knocking with 4 water sampling groups with sample collectors and security guards• Manage budget of over $40,000 to implement research, and compensated 40+ members of sampling team• Organize high-impact meetings with community leaders and executives of the Los Angeles Department for Water and Power
