Founded for change dance collective (fcdc), out of a desire to make dance through a choreographic process that reflects the ideals of socially conscious art. Our mission is to make dance in an environment that fosters the complete creative investment of each of our collaborators, and to present performances in ways that broaden the accessibility of innovative modern dance to new audiences.Since 2010, fcdc has been creating highly experiential dance theater excavated from raw experience, employing a uniquely democratic approach to art-making that embraces collaboration, shared ownership, and intimacy of all kinds.A sense of familial interconnectedness pervades our work, as many individual voices equally contribute to performances that cast light on the aspects of humanity that connect us all. United under the core beliefs that great art is transformational art, and that great art should be accessible to all, we hope to create dance that fosters change in audiences and performers alike.

Organized the total overall production of the Works in the Works Performance Series.Including hiring of technical and production staff, scheduling performances, communicating and managing contracts with venues, and communication with performers and crew. Also outreach and public relations both with participant artists and the press, and overseeing the production of four nights of performance followed by moderated audience feedback. Off-season responsibilities included writing and submitting grants and seeking out new sources of income to support programming.

Directed dance program at East Oakland Sports Center. Responsible for all class and employee scheduling, managing faculty and staff, overseeing student registration, approving facility rentals and contracts, marketing, outreach, communications with students and families (75% Spanish-speaking), and producing two annual concerts. Trained teachers, designed curriculum, and taught modern, ballet, jazz, hip hop and tumbling classes.The Introductory School of Dance at East Oakland Sports Center was designed to share the performing arts through introductory and intermediate dance technique classes, as well as through other movement-based activities such as gymnastics and martial arts. Specialists have been gathered together to provide excellent instruction in their expertise. Participants learn movement skills and techniques, history of their chosen activity, community, respect and self confidence.Oakland Parks & Recreation PLAYS WITH A PURPOSE.
