Career Ambassador
The CCD Career Ambassador Program (CAP) at BU is a student leadership and peer education program that enlists BU undergraduates to support the efforts of the centers to increase BU students’ awareness of and engagement with CCD programs and services.CAs are enthusiastic about providing their peers with the knowledge and tools that support career related success at BU. CAs facilitate a variety of professional skill-building programs and help students identify and become aware of other resources and events. As liaisons to the BU community, CAs are the face of the CCD and help keep resources relevant and accessible by fostering a supportive peer-to-peer environment both at the Yawkey Center for Student Service and across campus.
Career Ambassador - Public Relations Team
• The Public Relations (PR) Team delivers effective and consistent communication across campus to promote the CAP and CCD. • PR coordinates all social media posts and supports marketing projects by developing strategies for promoting the CAP and the CCD to the general student population.
Career Ambassador - Programming Team
• The Programming (PRO) Team handles the innovation and logistics of requested programs and Peer Engagement sponsored programs. This team guarantees that all programs run both seamlessly and professionally, while facilitating meaningful interactions with fellow students. • PRO creates and implements annual events including (but not limited to) Open Houses, Tip or Treat, Career Fair Prep Drop Ins, and more. Throughout the year, they also innovate new programs to support the career development of all BU students. • The PRO Team maintains many of the physical spaces on the 1st floor of 100 Bay State Road, such as YAW 101 & 102.

The Career Ambassador Program began in 2012 as the Student Ambassador Program (SAP), which served both the Boston University Center for Career Development (CCD) and Educational Resource Center (ERC).A Student Ambassador (SA) had several key responsibilities, including promoting CCD and ERC programs and services, engaging with students to increase student use of the two centers, staffing CCD-ERC events and programs, delivering workshops, and serving as a representative of the CCD and ERC across campus. In addition to team-specific responsibilities, all Student Ambassadors were responsible for upholding and fulfilling the following roles and responsibilities:• Possess knowledge and understanding of the centers’ programs and services• Guide peers to specific programs and services based on identified need(s)• Collaborate with team to increase community engagement with centers• Prepare and deliver effective presentations• Use provided tools and follow procedures associated with each system• Maintain professionalism via effective communication, self-presentation, & behavior
