Machine Learning Platform - Engineer 1
Continued my work on the Machine Learning Platform as part of the greater Nordstrom Analytics Platform to help design, build, and maintain scalable and sustainable technology products, devices, systems and solutions. Work that impacted over 300 projects, 100 users and more than a dozen active features each day.- Improved our internal API, CLI, SDK and web application (UI) code bases supporting projects that created over 20M in annual savings for Nordstrom- Participated in on-call shifts that included monitoring performance alerts from NewRelic and PagerDuty, helping our users (aka Data Scientists) with their error codes and jumping on emergent cross-company issues- Created stories, planned, executed and conducted peer code reviews - in an agile/ scrum environment - to ensure timely completion of work- Facilitated weekly team building activities; as well as, participated in larger company events - this includes membership in two internal ERGs (LatinX & LGBTQIA+) and engagement with many moreProject of Note: Feature Store Tech: Python, FastAPI, RESTful, DynamoDB, S3, FEAST, Jupyter Notebooks, Gitlab CI/CD Pipeline, NewRelic, React, JavaScript, MUI, Enzyme, JestCompleted work on an internal Feature Store - with both Online and Offline components - to help our users create, store and utilize curated features company wide - cutting down on duplicate work, increasing data integrity, and improving model training and predictions for thousands of employees.- Worked in a five-person team, within a three month timeframe and with multiple cross-department stakeholders to successfully launch our product- Planned, built and modified our non-relational database to best scale with our users- Executed company-wide rollout, including a stakeholder presentation – open to all – in which I owned multiple slides and presented a quarter of the content
