I started Kindred K-12 to provide every child in America the opportunity to benefit from high-quality instruction in school. I believe in teachers, and believe that by providing them the tools they need to implement the best pedagogical practices, we can democratize access to learning environments amenable to student success.Since I was a kid, I loved trying to build things that hadn't been built before. I'm proud that I was able to do that as the first employee of SupportLogic, where I worked for nearly 8 years, helping to establish a new category of AI products for technical support and customer success.I began as the Data Platform Lead, architecting and implementing the data and machine learning (ML) platform on which the company was built, as well as all of the original natural language processing (NLP) technology. I was awarded several patents at SupportLogic for novel algorithms and NLP techniques, all of which were used in production customer environments.I also spent years as Director of Engineering, managing both multiple functional teams as well as a cross-functional team.
