Christopher Nilsen is a seasoned institutional investor with nineteen years of experience across the energy, financial services and real estate sectors. Mr. Nilsen currently serves as the President of Laurelhurst Capital Management, LLC (“Laurelhurst Capital”), a private Dallas-based investment firm. With offices in Dallas and Oklahoma City, Laurelhurst Capital engages in a broad range of investment activities with the versatility to allocate across asset classes. Mr. Nilsen also serves as the President and Co-Founder of Bison Range Resources LLC ("Bison Range"), a Dallas-based private oil and gas investment firm. Bison Range actively acquires mineral, royalty and overriding royalty interests as well as manages a non-operated oil and gas portfolio with interests across the continental United States.Prior to founding Laurelhurst Capital and Bison Range, Mr. Nilsen spent a decade dedicated to global financial services and real estate investments. During his hedge fund tenure, Mr. Nilsen was a Partner at Blue Lion Capital responsible for financial services investments. Prior to Blue Lion Capital, Mr. Nilsen was a Fund Manager at Highland Capital Management, L.P. allocating capital for the firm’s hedge fund and separate account businesses as well as overseeing the firm’s financial services portfolio. Mr. Nilsen began his career as an investment banker at HSBC in New York and Hong Kong. Mr. Nilsen received a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Business Administration and Finance with Honors from the University of Washington’s Michael G. Foster School of Business where he serves as a Member of the Global Business Advisory Board.
