With a focus on Power Delivery for Florida Power & Light, my role involves design, build, and Operational Excellence for 50+ applications and 4 Data Warehouses. I am also responsible for FPL’s AI strategy as well as the Data Architecture to achieve AI transformation.

At Blast Motion, my role included designing, building and running custom software solutions in the AWS Cloud. This includes 3 APIs (with ~200 endpoints) for our mobile and web applications, as well as the infrastructure to run our internal / external web applications for an international customer base. In addition, I served as the architect of the data platform that drives Blast Motion, including building the databases, data lake and pipelines that enable analytics and provide a platform for Machine Learning. I was responsible for data capture, governance and security, which I consider a key part of any data platform.As a member of a startup, a combination of hands-on development as well as mentoring, managing and leading the technology teams that implement our solutions was necessary. This unique blend of management experience, combined with a deep understanding of many languages and technology stacks, as well as Agile methodologies and LEAN process improvement, made me a valuable bridge between the Leadership team and our Engineering team to maintain alignment to strategic objectives and first class execution.

My role at Human Longevity included Business process automation for the Health Nucleus Clinic located in La Jolla, CA, including mapping, automating, and improving the interactions with the wet/dry labs that performed DNA sequencing and other lab work. I was also responsible for driving the implementation of a new Data Lake at HLI, for improving R&D and Operational analytics.

As an independent consultant, I offer solution architecture expertise with a focus on several key areas. - Building an e-Commerce presence for startups, and improving e-Commerce tooling for established companies, with a focus on real-time Customer interactions.- DevOps roadmapping and infrastructure automation for Continuous Integration/Delivery. The core tools I use are Chef, AWS CLI, Jenkins, as well as Linux shell, SQL, ANT scripting as needed. As Director of Business Systems I planned and managed the entire set of Enterprise Applications that run Cali Bamboo, including implementation, maintenance, architecture and the application development life cycle. Being at a small company, I also acted as PMO and Enterprise Architect, as well as handling communication and budget responsibility. As part of building the department from scratch, I was responsible for staff development and handled executive communication, including quarterly Board presentations.

An industrial distributor, HD Supply has domestic operations with 5 distinct lines of business focused on supplying materials to maintenance and repair, construction, hospitality, healthcare, and government organizations. Annual revenue for the line of business I support (Facilities Maintenance) is currently $2.5B annually. I am part of the Client Relations team, focused on driving strategic alignment of the IT organization to core business capabilities. My role includes improvement of our IT processes and tools, to accelerate growth and scalability.

With a focus on e-Business, I maintain executive communication, and drive alignment of the IT organization to the highest priority business goals. Part of a team which executed 21 Capex projects in 2012, including infrastructure, Web, and EDI projects, we are on track to execute 18 projects in 2013, with a total budget of approximately $4M.

Webroot Software provides Consumer and Enterprise software products, in both an installed and Cloud model. With a focus on anti-virus/anti-spyware technologies, Webroot is a fast-growing company and a leader in threat research, email and web traffic filtering. A mid-size company, Webroot is a private company with annual revenue of approximately $350M annually. Part of a global IT department, I delivered strategic projects, Enterprise Architecture, Production Support capabilities, as well as budgeting and planning in support of our Enterprise applications. Serving as trusted advisor to the CIO/CFO, I was responsible for keeping costs low and enabling the scalable growth of our operations by executing Process Improvement, maturing our Information Architecture, and building key Business Intelligence.

As part of a development team acquired by Deloitte Consulting, our charter included client-focused integration and architecture work. Establishing our presence at Deloitte, our team also focused on internal development and execution of a roadmap for growth of the ‘near-shore’ development concept (branded as DevStudio) to match the competitive needs of Deloitte Consulting.

I was the first member of DevStudio, a remote technical development team designed to help Solbourne compete with low cost off shoring practices. My project responsibilities included development work for Oracle e-Business Suite clients with specialization in large-scale Enterprise integrations using SOA technologies. I also performed duties to help grow the business, which ultimately led to a successful acquisition by Deloitte Consulting.Awards: Consulting Excellence Award, 2 years consecutively (2007, 2008). Given to a select few consultants each year, this represented the highest recognition of excellence at Solbourne.
