I have returned to InVision after being gone for a year. As the Compliance Manager for both the Eastern and Western regions my duty is to endure regulations are followed and investigations conducted to ensure the health and safety of the individuals served. When I joined the team at Berks Counseling Center as the CCC Supervisor I worked to revamp the department from scratch. I am now 80% staffed and we are starting to get up and running with the team’s responsibilities. There are CCCs on-site at Reading Hospital’s ED as well. I enjoyed being part of recovery for addiction and mental health and had a wonderful team to work with!For 5 years I supervised amazing programs where we help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and mental health concerns live their best lives at Threshold and InVision. I loved my roles and the people I interacted with. The individuals are wonderful and inspiring. As the Recruiter at CONCERN I worked with potential foster families. My role involved marketing to raise awareness and recruit new families. I then guided families through the approval process and provide comprehensive training classes. I loved my work and enjoy making a difference in the lives of families and children!As Employment and Career Specialist At AVRE I worked with legally blind and blind consumers on employment opportunities. In addition to adults seeking employment I worked with transition aged youth to build pre-vocational skills. I created and launched a Work Readiness group training program to develop skills needed to enter the workforce for individuals who had not worked previously or had not worked in a considerable time. I developed and hosted a multi day learning experience for youth to be introduce to adaptive technology, successful blind adults and team building activities. I also worked closely with the VRT and O&M staff. Sitting on several committees with other local agencies allowed me to better assist consumers with multiple impairments. For 5 years I played a key roll in National Disability Employment Awareness Month & Disability Mentoring Day in several counties. For 6 years I have volunteered with Big Brother/Big Sister. In 2008 I was elected to the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Club of Western Broome for a 3 year term. My community involvement earned me the Amy J Lattier Citizen of the Year award at AVRE in 2012.
