The majority of the Mechanical design and Commissioning projects completed at Spur have been in Healthcare and specifically for the Veterans Healthcare Administration (VHA) throughout the US. Mechanical Design in Healthcare presents new challenges often so projects are seldom dull.

Assists the commander as Senior Enlisted Marine in the unit. Acts as principal enlisted assistant to the commander. Keeps apprised of all policies of the commander. Disseminates information to the unit's enlisted personnel regarding such policies. Reports to the commander on the status of matters pertaining to the efficient operation of the command. Counsel’s subordinate unit Noncommissioned Officers as required improving the general effectiveness of the command. Interviews and counsels enlisted personnel on pertinent professional and personal matters that may affect the efficiency of the command. Assists the commander in the conduct of office hours, requests mast, and meritorious mast. Participates in ceremonies, briefings, confer commander. Assists in supervision of clerical and administrative matters; training functions and the employment of the command in garrison and in the field; logistic functions such as billeting, transportation, and messing; inspections and investigations; personnel management; and daily routine. Assumes other duties designated by the commander.

Perform HVAC and Plumbing design for commercial, industrial, healthcare, and education facilities, under the supervision of a licensed Professional Mechanical Engineer. Write and edit mechanical system specifications for building projects.

Teaching a Revit Architecture class at OCCC.

Primary management of the BIM/VDC department. Manage the Architecture and Engineering Services Department personnel as well as maintenance of the Project Management database, blog, AutoCAD files and standards. Directly responsible for the training and advancement of (4) Project Managers. Assist the Sr. Director of Design and Engineering to develop and maintain Construction Documents to include selection of equipment and materials. Develop and maintain annual budget, track and approve invoices, negotiate pricing and scope of work with vendors.

Mechanical/Plumbing Research, planning and design of building projects for new construction, modification and renovation. Conducted site surveys and developed project estimates. Provide technical guidance to drafters and estimators. Serve as primary point of contact on assigned projects. Perform bid negotiations and coordination with contractors.

Design and coordination of multiple Commercial, Educational, and Institutional Mechanical Engineering Projects. Calculate loads using Trace 700. Design and select HVAC systems/equipment to include: packaged, split-system, VAV/CV, Boiler/Chiller, Hood systems, and controls. Review of shop drawings, preliminary specifications, perform site inspections. Design and select plumbing systems/equipment, medical gas piping, kitchen direct and indirect waste, grease removal/interceptors, and isometrics.

Turning Engineered hand sketches into construction documents using AutoCAD and hand drafting skills.
