- Led a team of three engineers to develop a service enabling Square merchants to sell "Credits" that buyers can redeem for goods and services, in support of the Square Appointments' Packages product- Collaborated closely with the Appointments PM to define requirements and update designs to satisfy product needs- Designed the service API which integrates seamlessly with the existing Square platform, and mentored a junior engineer to write their first Engineering Design.- Led implementation, integration, and testing, managing project dependencies and work sequencing, and running team rituals.- Project was completed successfully on-schedule, enabling a successful Packages product launch.

- Led a team of four engineers to develop a new payment method within Square- Product enabled Square sellers to create an account for their buyers that could be charged to and automatically paid off later- Collaborated closely with partner team developing a "Financial Accounts" service, which our service depended on, designing our APIs and building our services in parallel- Wrote the initial Product Requirements, API specifications, and Engineering design documents- Developed team processes and onboarded new engineers, establishing a tight-knit team with high trust and autonomy- Managed the project from inception to successful launch, resulting in adoption by over 900 sellers and the creation of 4500 customer accounts.

As a Backend Engineer, I spearheaded the development of the new Buyer Subscriptions service, enabling our sellers to offer subscriptions integrated with the rest of the Square platform. This included infrastructure work to deploy an open-source Docker application to our on-premises data centers (a first in production) and integrate it with our standard deployment, monitoring, and observability tooling, as well as development of a Java service expose the subscriptions functionality via API.In addition to my technical achievements, I organized an onboarding program for new engineers. This initiative featured a dozen courses covering topics ranging from the fundamentals of payment processing, to career advancement. Offered quarterly, the program average overall attendance of over 200 engineers.

Embedded C/C++ satellite antenna control software. Two years working on ground-based antenna systems, followed by three as the team lead for our airborne antennas serving military and commercial customers. Mix of new product development and integration, as well as supporting existing and legacy products.

Buford, Ga

Working on a satellite antenna controller, I developed the communication code to interface with the control computer and helped to develop the overall control architecture using ELMO motion control hardware. Additionally, I created a desktop simulator to allow testing and debug of the antenna controller without needing a control computer present. This was done using a combination of C and C++ with a GUI written in C#.NET.

Working in the targeting and optics division, I developed a graphical reticle design tool with vector and raster functionality along with the ability to compile reticle binary files to be used on product hardware. Developed using the Qt toolkit in C++.

Designed and implemented a dynamic web-based reporting tool to interface with an Oracle SQL database. Designed to be used during report meetings it allows for custom queries with multiple filter criteria.
