As the inaugural Director of Global Health Equity Strategies, I advise and support the design and implementation of global equity, diversity, and inclusion strategies dedicated to advance health equity initiatives across the ASCO enterprise, encompassing its nearly 50,000 members world-wide, and external stakeholders. My role works to ensure that health equity is strategically integrated throughout ASCO’s mission of conquering cancer through research, education, and promotion of the highest quality equitable care and identify developing opportunities for ASCO’s sustained impact on health equity.

Cross River Strategies, LLC is led by Dr. Diana Lu, President and Chief Scientific Officer. The Global Mission is to advance health equity worldwide using co-creation strategies with science and community engagement.Below are a few highlights:- In 2021, our clinical trial work in Georgia led to over 200 African Americans completing an FDA-approved colorectal cancer study. This was the second highest enrollment site out of 194 for Black people across the US. - In June 2022, we were selected as the national consultant by the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) to enhance the pipeline of minority healthcare providers to community health centers. Through this work, we’ve engaged clinicians across the country including: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, California, Connecticut, DC, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana, Massachusetts, New Jersey, North Carolina, Texas and the US Army.- We completed two years of teaching and mentoring community research fellows in New Haven, CT about scientific mistrust and health inequities in partnership with the Center for Community Engagement and Health Equity within Yale Cancer Center
