Micronesia Climate Change Alliance (MCCA) is a grassroots network of individuals and organizations dedicated to creating community-centered solutions to climate change.Although we are a small team, we have an ambitious agenda to improve the sustainability of our island home by focusing on a wide spectrum of issues such as mitigating and adapting to climate change, transitioning to locally- produced renewable energy sources, promoting food sovereignty, tackling the consumption and waste crisis and advocating for an equitable, just society throughout Micronesia.In January 2021, I was promoted from Intern to their Program Coordinator. The essential job function for this position is to ensure all requirement from grants/projects are fulfilled. We are a small organization of only three personnel with around 20+ 1099-Independent contractors annually. MCCA is a small but mighty organization as we handle upwards of $150,000 different grants to facilitate multiple community projects for your island.Projects/Duties- Precious Plastics: Co-created Guam’s Precious Plastics program from the ground up. Precious Plastic is a combination of people, machines, networks and knowledge to create an alternative global recycling system. Power Shift NetworkPSN mobilizes the collective power of young people to mitigate climate change and create a just, clean energy future and resilient, thriving communities for all.Young people today face a world in crisis: A broken political system, deepening inequality, entrenched and emboldened racism, and a catastrophically changing climate. But we’re committed to action, mutual support, and solidarity -- we’re building a strong, intersectional, bottom-up movement to take on the climate crisis, shift the power, and change the system.Network members are working to combat climate and environmental injustice, stop dirty energy projects, divest from fossil fuels, fix democracy, and build the just, clean-energy powered future young people need. We understand that these issues are deeply interlinked, and we believe that we can better tackle them as a coordinated network.Duties: Strategize on how to meet the recruitment goal for my region and executing that strategy. Creating localized outreach lists, recruiting & supporting Community Leads within the Micronesian region.

Little Pikas Café is a locally owned restaurant with the Guahan Eat Inc. My essential job function for this role is providing guests with an incredible dining experience they will never forget. A Food and Beverage Specialist title does not do this position justice. This position required you to strategically manage your time, handle customer relations, and fulfil lite accounting work as you were required to manage hundreds of transactions a day.Other duties include:- Worked closely with management, team, and other departments to provide excellent client satisfaction.- Handling all forms of payments and lite accounting duties which include service charge distribution and tabulating of all receipt transactions daily.- Executed daily operations of setup, necessary preparations to provide individuals with an exceptional experience. This entailed intuition, perceived needs, and an extensive knowledge of a diverse public.
