I co-founded Kuali with Joel Dehlin and the Kuali Foundation. I co-founded rSmart (originally The rSmart Group) with edtech veteran John Robinson and Anthony Potts and helped grow the company to north of $10m in services and SaaS revenue. We founded the company to take advantage of a potentially disruptive trend toward open source enterprise e-Learning software in higher education. rSmart built a SaaS business based on the open source Sakai platform, and later the open source Kuali ERP software. In 2014 rSmart's SaaS business was acquired, along with assets from the Kuali Foundation to launch a new for-profit company called Kuali, Inc. that would have an exclusive opportunity to design, develop, and provide SaaS services for the Kuali ERP suite. Over more than 10 years rSmart became the leading SaaS business around the Sakai and Kuali open source communities in higher education. The company played a key role in the formation, design, and growth of these communities and provided services for more than 100 college and university customers in 6 countries. Handled client relationships, project management, and primary business functions. Lead CD-ROM product development and multimedia production team. Used development toos such as Delphi, Visual Basic, Director, HTML. Used design and production tools and equipment including Lightwave, Animation Master, Photoshop, Premiere, CorelDraw, Nonlinear Editing and Broadcast video eqiupment.

Customer relationships, project management, corporate documentation, finances and marketing. Worked extensively with 3D Modelling and animation software, 2D Graphic Design packages, Programming and Authoring tools, World Wide Web development.

Responsible for technical operations of small computer systems and consulting business. Primary responsibilities were: development of database applications; on-site evaluation services and system troubleshooting; system integration assembly; research and sourcing of new personal computer technologies. Also assisted in development of marketing and sales strategies.
