I help fill in at Dr. Harshaw's office when they need it. It's a fun, fast paced pediatric office where I provide prophylactic dental care, take digital x-rays (Shick), and apply fluoride varnish.

I am the SR. Dental Hygienist at the office. I helped streamline the Dental Hygiene department by improving the quality of tools we were using to offer our patients a higher quality of care and more comfortable experiences. This includes, updating to newer ultrasonic technology, driving forward CAMBRA protocols, establishing an MI Paste/White Spot remineralization program, and ensuring periodontal protocols are followed.I work one-on-one with patients to help them understand their dental care, disease, and actively work with them in prevention and treatment. I feel so good when I see the light-bulb go off in their head when they make the connection between their teeth and their health.As a senior hygienist, I have undertaken training other clinical and non-clinical staff members in both treatment protocols, treatment planning, appointment scheduling, and practice management software. I have lead meetings to disseminate knowledge from continuing education courses to other team members and create momentum for change within the office dynamic. I have been a key team-member within my office by having situation awareness of what is going on in the practice and what others need, while keeping my own duties independently managed in a fast paced, dynamic environment.I have experience with OpenDental, PracticeWorks, Dexis, Sirona, CariVue, Diagnodent, CariFree System, Intra-oral Cameras, Invisalign, iTero, and am a quick learner and adapter to many technologies.

I was a dental hygiene student. Most of my time was dedicated to learning the craft and science of dental hygiene. During this time it became a deep passion for me. I was one of two students allowed into the program right out of high school. I graduated with honors and received the Hu-Friedy Golden Scaler Award for Best Clinician in my class.
