I recently was an undergrad research assistant for Dr. Lee’s Physical Activity and Aging Study. PAAS is a longitudinal cohort study being done at Iowa State University. The purpose of this study is to investigate the benefits of physical fitness/activity with aging, chronic disease prevention, and longevity in older adults. Each week participants aged over 65 years old come into the lab where we test them cognitively and physically. The physical tests include a 400m walk test, the get up test, grip strength, and lastly a balance test.
