Following the expansion of the technical department, I started to oversee the technical direction of the frontend and backend chapters in a technical department of 120+ employees. Noticeable steps involved:• The creation of a "platform" team, where I was the main stakeholder, detached from direct product needs. The team was tasked to refocus on the continuous overall technical improvement (fighting technical debt, keeping an up to date stack, continuous performance improvement) and supporting the low level needs of the 10 Socios.com feature teams.• Creating backend and frontend technical lead positions, reporting to me, accountable to mentor engineers, to push for continuous improvement and to oversee global technical direction accross all the teams. • Helping teams to find compromises between Stakeholder needs, Product Vision, Technical constraints and team capacities and helping build a path forward on multi months / multi teams projects. • Provided the technical design to sustains, on Socios.com side, the migration of our Fan Tokens (cryptocurrencies) from a private blockchain to the Chiliz Chain (a public blockchain).• Putting in motion, through the tech leads and the platform team, the full rewrite of the previous Socios.com mobile app• Frequent sync-up with engineering managers and team leads to find the best middle ground between individuals own will, proper steps for their career growth and needed engineering movements to sustains the continuous growth of the department and react to constantly evolving teams needs over time

Moving to this new role, I supported the backend team to strengthen development processes to ensure resiliency or automated recovery of all critical components in case of unexpected events. We also improved, through several fail and learn iterations, the efficiency of performance critical components, especially under high concurrency events, while requiring near real time processing.Working in close cooperation with the CTO and Head of Product, I was involved in nearly all upcoming future features, challenging the "why" and finding the "how". I shifted from being deeply involved in writing code myself to overseeing major conceptions and mentoring the backend team, leaving space for each of my teammate to growth and find their place in our growing company. I supported the backend team growth from 10 to 25 PHP developers, coupled with an agile transformation of the whole tech department. We shifted over 1 year from big separated chapter teams to 7+ autonomous, trusted and empowered features teams. Acting as the architect of the backend team I designed the support of NFTs in our product, oversaw the start of an API Platform to open our APIs to external partners, added fiat support to our wallet and planned the whole USA regulation compliance of our platform.

Working as Senior PHP developer, I was mainly involved on Symfony based applications relying on Postgresql databases. I designed and built from scratch the financial core of the application, tracking, validating and processing all transactions, being it operated on Blockchain or not. Then I made it evolve over time to collect VAT, add more regulatory rules, improve scalability and resiliency.Working in a team of 5 to 10 people, I got the occasion to be challenged to improve, while starting to mentor developers to build resilient components in a "macro service" architecture.I introduced an ApiProxy based on Kong Gateway to orchestrate all communications between services. I also got involved to bootstrap several services around payment, data change monitoring (using clickhouse as final storage), segmentation tools for marketing and a marketplace for our Fan Tokens.
