Co-director of a tech department of 120 people

Following the expansion of the technical department, I started to oversee the technical direction of the frontend and backend chapters in a technical department of 120+ employees. Noticeable steps involved:• The creation of a "platform" team, where I was the main stakeholder, detached from direct product needs. The team was tasked to refocus on the continuous overall technical improvement (fighting technical debt, keeping an up to date stack, continuous performance improvement) and supporting the low level needs of the 10 Socios.com feature teams.• Creating backend and frontend technical lead positions, reporting to me, accountable to mentor engineers, to push for continuous improvement and to oversee global technical direction accross all the teams. • Helping teams to find compromises between Stakeholder needs, Product Vision, Technical constraints and team capacities and helping build a path forward on multi months / multi teams projects. • Provided the technical design to sustains, on Socios.com side, the migration of our Fan Tokens (cryptocurrencies) from a private blockchain to the Chiliz Chain (a public blockchain).• Putting in motion, through the tech leads and the platform team, the full rewrite of the previous Socios.com mobile app• Frequent sync-up with engineering managers and team leads to find the best middle ground between individuals own will, proper steps for their career growth and needed engineering movements to sustains the continuous growth of the department and react to constantly evolving teams needs over time

Moving to this new role, I supported the backend team to strengthen development processes to ensure resiliency or automated recovery of all critical components in case of unexpected events. We also improved, through several fail and learn iterations, the efficiency of performance critical components, especially under high concurrency events, while requiring near real time processing.Working in close cooperation with the CTO and Head of Product, I was involved in nearly all upcoming future features, challenging the "why" and finding the "how". I shifted from being deeply involved in writing code myself to overseeing major conceptions and mentoring the backend team, leaving space for each of my teammate to growth and find their place in our growing company. I supported the backend team growth from 10 to 25 PHP developers, coupled with an agile transformation of the whole tech department. We shifted over 1 year from big separated chapter teams to 7+ autonomous, trusted and empowered features teams. Acting as the architect of the backend team I designed the support of NFTs in our product, oversaw the start of an API Platform to open our APIs to external partners, added fiat support to our wallet and planned the whole USA regulation compliance of our platform.

Working as Senior PHP developer, I was mainly involved on Symfony based applications relying on Postgresql databases. I designed and built from scratch the financial core of the application, tracking, validating and processing all transactions, being it operated on Blockchain or not. Then I made it evolve over time to collect VAT, add more regulatory rules, improve scalability and resiliency.Working in a team of 5 to 10 people, I got the occasion to be challenged to improve, while starting to mentor developers to build resilient components in a "macro service" architecture.I introduced an ApiProxy based on Kong Gateway to orchestrate all communications between services. I also got involved to bootstrap several services around payment, data change monitoring (using clickhouse as final storage), segmentation tools for marketing and a marketplace for our Fan Tokens.

Pour les produits d'Email Retargeting, CRM OnBoarding et EasyDMP (Data Management Platform) de Squadata (https://www.squadata.net):• Mise en œuvre de l'ingestion et l'exploitation de données basée sur Hadoop (HDFS, Hive, Impala) pour notre solution de DMP (easydmp). • Développement sous Symfony 4 de certains services internes. • Migration en TypeScript de nos tag JS de Tracking de la solution EasyDMP. • Approche devops et industrialisation (Docker / GitLab CI) sur l'ensemble des projets internes.Interviens sur les projets ChiliZ (https://chiliz.com) et Socios (https://socios.com) qui ont vocation à monétiser, grâce aux crypto currency, les fans des équipes d'Esport et de clubs sportifs.• Participe à la phase de finalisation de l'architecture initiale orientée service de la plate-forme. • Lead développeur sur la partie gestion du porte feuille multi-monnaie basé sur des crypto monnaie liées à la Blockchain Ethereum. Techno: Symfony 4 + PgSql.• Mise en place d'une API Gateway basée sur Kong.Pour la plateforme de gestion de coupon de réduction de SmartCoupon (https://smartcoupon.io, groupe M6Web), j'interviens en tant que Lead Développeur sur:• La partie Tracking capable de collecter les comportement utilisateurs sur des sites d'e-commerce à fort trafic et de délivrer en temps réel des coupons de réduction personnalisés. Techno: Nginx + Lua + Redis• Le développement de l'ETL chargé du stockage à long terme et des restitutions statistiques. Techno: PHP + Hadoop (HDFS + Hive + Impala).Pour l'outil de vérification de diffusion publicitaire d'Adledge (https://adledge.com):• Migration de plateforme de Tracking d'Apache vers Nginx (~1 milliard de hit journalier).• TMA, en PHP, sur les processus d'ETL de parsing et d'ingestion des logs.Pour la DMP de Mediapost Communication (http://mediapostcommunication.fr):• TMA et optimisation, en PHP et Javascript, des processus d'ETL et de Tracking.

Suite au rachat par Scientific Game, intervient en tant qu'architecte logiciel sur conception d'une nouvelle architecture orientée micro-services pour la de gestion de profil utilisateur, de leur portfeuilles et de jeux.Je participe également au design et au processus de migration progressive du socle monolithique existant.

Référent technique pour l'équipe de 9 développeurs basée à Lyon pour le développement d'une solution en PHP de gestion de joueurs et de leur portefeuille pour des sites de casino et poker en ligne en argent réel (principalement destiné au marché américain).• Conception et développement des évolutions majeures de la plate-forme tout en assurant lapérennité de l'existant (>600 000 lignes de code PHP), la fiabilité et la résistance à de fortes charges (>1 million mouvements financier en argent réel par jour).• Mise en conformité du produit avec les régulations de jeu en ligne du Nevada et du New-Jersey.• Assure le passage sous Docker des projets et réalise la mise à jour correspondante des outils dedéploiement et d'intégration continue.Socle technique: PHP 5.6, Mysql, Symfony1, Silex, Propel, PHPUnit, Behat, GIT, Docker,Redis, Jenkins, Capistrano, Webservices (REST, SOAP) et un peu de NodeJs

Occupant un poste de web-développeur PHP et de responsable technique, mes missions furent:• Encadrement technique de l’équipe de développeurs.• Interventions transversales et uniformisation des projets du groupe chiligaming (mediarex). Conception et réalisation d'un site de paris sportif (chilibet/chilipari), utilisation massive de webservices, création d’un CMS, mise en place de marques blanche, mise en place d’un login centralisé et multi-domaines, outils de reporting, archivage et manipulation de fortes volumétries en base de données.• Conception / réalisation de la version offline et synchronisable online d'un progiciel de gestion de campings pour Huttopia.• Conception / réalisation du workflow interne pour suivi de la relation clientèle et de la gestion interne des projets

Embauché pour le compte de Kaléidoscope, un réseau européen de recherche, ma missionétait de participer au développement d'un CMS sous PHP et MySQL (créations : outils de recherche,éditeur d’images, forums, blogs...)
