NUDR 704 - Inquiry I: Methods for Evidence-Based Practice

-Coordinates care center-based multidisciplinary efforts to decrease hospital-acquired infections/hospital-acquired conditions (namely CLABSIs and HAPIs).-Coaches and mentors nurses intra- and extra-care center on evidence-based practice, integrating their input into appraising and appreciating policy and procedure updates.-Consults and collaborates with medical and nursing care teams directly to promote optimal outcomes related to HAI/HAC prevention, complex care management, and educational needs.

-Provides coverage for all inpatient medical/surgical units, focusing efforts on quality promotion and harm mitigation.

Provides developmentally appropriate, holistic, culturally-specific, and individualized nursing care for children.-Collaborates between health care disciplines within the hospital (therapists, patient care technicians, physicians, etc.) and delegates to appropriate team members to fashion child-specific healing outcomes.-Functions as a charge nurse, exhibiting leadership, open communication, and fostering smooth workflow among coworkers while maintaining a patient assignment.-Created and leads the Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital Integrative Health Workgroup, a collaboration between MDs, child life specialists, nurses, therapists, and patient care advocates that spearheads integrative health change.-Initiates and monitors infusions of blood products and chemotherapeutic/biotherapeutic agents.-Created and leads the Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital Social Morale Workgroup, a collaboration between RNs, child life specialists, managers, and patient care techs who work collectively to enhance the wellbeing of our associates while at work and into the home life.

-Manager of Pediatrics 3rd floor-Coordinating and supporting daily activities of multidisciplinary staff of above 40 associates.-Overseeing the start of separate unit based on diagnoses.-Collecting data for analyses on multiple projects that impact bedside staff, unit, and hospital system.-Evaluation and coaching of nursing staff and unlicensed assistive personnel.
