I am an attorney that assists employers in navigating federal, state and local employment laws including reviewing and drafting their handbooks, policies and procedures and employment agreements. When necessary, I represent businesses in agency and court matters. I advise clients and handle cases involving all federal and state laws and local ordinances. I work with businesses on issues related to on-boarding, diversity, equity and inclusion policies and practices, return to work policies and COVID-19 related concerns.I represent single member LLCs, closely-held corporations and Fortune 500 companies, working closely with in-house Human Resources or those individuals responsible for a company's People Operations functions. I have significant first-chair trial experience representing clients in both jury and bench trials, as well as representing clients in arbitrations and before federal and state agencies. For 30 years, I have litigated cases at all levels of state and federal courts and have represented and argued cases in the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Sixth and Seventh Circuits. I am licensed to practice in Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan and Texas, and I am admitted to practice before numerous United States District Courts in Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan and Indiana.I have been fortunate to have been selected as a Super Lawyer in Employment Law in Michigan in 2006 and in Illinois from 2019 - 2024.
