I practice exclusively in the areas of taxation, estates, trusts, family business law, and philanthropy, representing domestic and international individuals, families, and charitable organizations. Over the last thirty years, I have practiced with prominent law firms and accounting firms in Silicon Valley and San Francisco, as well as with the trust department of one of the largest private banks in the U.S. I have counseled some of the largest and most complex estates in the world. I have worked extensively with domestic and international families, helping them grow, protect, transition, and transfer their estates. I have represented clients before various courts and administrative agencies of the federal and state government, including the United States Tax Court and the Internal Revenue Service. I am also an adjunct faculty member in the Master of Science in Taxation (MST) program in the Lucas Graduate School of Business at San Jose State University, where I teach "Taxation of Estates and Trusts" to CPAs and aspiring CPAs.
